Well its actually an illusion!
It was designed to grab the attention of drivers and reduce the need for speed bumps.
This innovative design is merely painted on a street in Iceland. Its all paint. They used colour and shadows to create depth to make the zebra lines appear as if they are floating on air. But they are not. There are no raised steps.
This is visual perception. Just goes to show that visual perception is based on experience and not on the light falling on the retina, - even if it is in sharp clarity!
